Founding and Mission

Green Horizon Foundation (GHF) is a Tanzanian non-governmental organization founded in 2020 and officially registered in 2024. It was established by Enoka Munduka John and Geofrey Samson Mugini to address biodiversity loss, climate change, and the sustainable use of natural resources.

2

Core Objectives and Approach

The foundation's core objectives include protecting natural habitats, promoting sustainable farming, reducing carbon emissions, and raising environmental awareness. It collaborates with researchers and innovators to develop effective environmental solutions.

3

Major Projects and Achievements

Since its founding, GHF has carried out impactful projects supported by international donors like the Rufford Foundation and the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund. Key projects include efforts to save wild pollinators in Mbeya and reforestation initiatives.

Future Plans and Vision

Looking forward, GHF plans to establish a Community Conservation and Research Center in Mbeya, expand environmental education programs, and introduce eco-friendly livelihoods like beekeeping.
